Aims & Scopes of Journal of Soil Environment (JSE)

 

The Journal of Soil Environment (JSE)is published by Soil Science Department of Mohaghegh Ardabili University. It is an Open-access journal and will be published biannually in the initial stages. The JSE editorial board consists of the editor-in-chief; the editors; technical editors; associate editors and the managing editor.

Peer-Review Process

JSE is intended to provide rapid publication of new developments in the field of Environmental Soil Science as well as review articles. Manuscripts may be volunteered, invited, or coordinated as a special section or symposium.JSE is an international, peer-reviewed journal, which publishes original research contributions to scientific knowledge. All manuscript submissions are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. The decision on a manuscript will be made within a few weeks and the accepted manuscripts are generally published online within two weeks. All peer review is double blind and submission is online via the JSE website.

Papers in JSE cover Environmental aspects of soil science and soil quality. The subject areas are periodically reviewed by the JSE editorial board and are subject to change. The subject matter areas are:

  • organic and inorganic pollutants in the soil
  • bioremediation and phytoremediation
  • soil biota and nutrient cycling
  • factors affecting soil productivity
  • interaction between plant and soil environment
  • the role of soil in the ecosystem and environment
  • Impact of agricultural activities on the soil environment
  • soil organic matter and sustainable agriculture
  • soil and global warming
